Recent Work – Four Hundred

Four Hundred from Will Roegge on Vimeo.

This digital short film was commissioned by Speedhunters (Electronic Arts) and Royal Purple. During Bonneville Speed Week 2009, I followed the Nish Motorsports team through their week on the salt flats. Their goal is to break the Summer brother’s record and propel the naturally aspirated V8 Streamliner to 425+ MPH. Four Hundred, was selected as the title because it was the goal of the team to get the car up to four hundred miles per hour during Speed Week. This being in preparation for the FIA event where the car would have a longer stretch to reach maximum speed.

Produced by Speedhunters – Rod Chong, Creative Director

Directed, Shot, and Edited by Will Roegge

Special thanks to the Nish Family and John Brooks who conducted the interview with Mike Nish, the driver.

Acquired with a Panasonic HPX-170. Edited in Final Cut Pro. Color Correction done with Magic Bullet Colorista. Minimal Color grading done with Magic Bullet Looks. Cropped to 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio.

Linhbergh - By far my favorite film of yours. I'll stop crawling up your dick about this now...

Will - Interesting that we both thought it was going to be awful- based on reviewing some of the footage on site. Who knows. I think breaking away from montage based story telling and using a strong interview makes for a stronger piece in the end.
